From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. D is the fourth letter in the Latin alphabet. Its name in English (pronounced /diː/) is spelled dee, plural dees. HistoryEgyptian hieroglyph door Proto-Semitic Dal, Daleth Phoenician Daleth Etruscan D Greek Delta Roman DThe Semitic letter Dâlet probably developed from the logogram for a fish or a door. There are various Egyptian hieroglyphs that might have inspired this. In Semitic, Ancient Greek, and Latin, the letter was pronounced /d/; in the Etruscan alphabet the letter was superfluous but still retained (see letter B). Greek letter: Δ (capital) or δ (small) (Delta). The minuscule (lower-case) form of D consists of a loop and a tall vertical stroke. It developed by gradual variations on the majuscule (capital) form. In handwriting, it was common to start the arc to the left of the vertical stroke, resulting in a serif at the top of the arc. This serif was extended while the rest of the letter was reduced, resulting in an angled stroke and loop. The angled stroke slowly developed into a vertical stroke. From Wikipedia under the

Q. Hi - One of the director and officer of our company has signed an NDA (non-disclosure) & a PIA (Proprietary Invention) agreements with his previous employer (she was a director/officer at that company too). She will be working on similar stuff at our company. She is obviously not planning on using any trade-secrets she was privy too :-). That said if she or our company is sued by her former employer for trade secret violations, can the 1. D&O insurance cover the legal costs involved in defending a lawsuit involving the new director? 2. We don't have any D&O coverage right now, what kind of coverage should we ask for to deal with any legal issues that may come up with the new director on board? 3. How does the D&O insurance work - what… [cont.] Asked by Mandy C - Mon Sep 10 21:03:43 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. 1. D&O policies are NOT standardized, so you'll have to check with a particular form. in general, however, the policy only covers lawsuits related to your position as a director or officer at your current position. So it's going to depend wildly on the exact wording of the suit. In any case, defense costs are the only thing covered - any judgement is NOT going to be covered, if she's done something illegal on purpose. 2. lay out to your agent, EXACTLY what you're looking for. Again, it's not going to cover her prior acts with a previous employer. The point is, to cover YOUR company, not to cover HER, or to cover her but only with respect to her position with your company. 3. Usually with D&O, defense costs are inside the limit,… [cont.] Answered by mbrcatz - Mon Sep 10 21:22:29 2007 I'd like to start the violin, but I'm not very informed. Is there a difference between their sounds? Q. I mean their tone, you know? I can't see the difference, maybe if you'd explained i'd get it :D Asked by Lux - Sat Dec 22 10:24:48 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments A. I tell my students to repeat this simple mantra after me, and to repeat it to themselves every time they get discouraged: "We have to be willing to sound bad before we can sound good!" This sounds cold and heartless on the face of things, but when you play the violin for a little while, you will understand. The Violin, like the Trombone, has no preset buttons to push down, or frets to guide you. Some teachers put tape where your fingers are supposed to go, and that helps a great deal, but it is only a guide. Wherever you put your finger, you are going to get a specific sound. The closer you get to the correct note, the worse that sound is going to be! Until it is dead on perfect. When you first start out it's not so bad because the… [cont.] Answered by cconsaul - Sat Dec 22 11:09:56 2007 What could be the cause of a very low Vitamin D level in recent blood work?
Q. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I am 27 (I have had it since the age of 7). My recent blood work just came back showing very low Vitamin D levels, even though they were normal 3 months ago. I have to go on Vitamin D treatments for the next 16 weeks. I am just nervous because I have not been feeling good lately and I don't know if there could be something else going on. Can anyone help with some insight? Asked by erinl228 - Mon Jul 21 15:00:30 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Try getting out in the sun for about 15 minutes a day, that should help.
